During this 7-WEEK course students will have the opportunity to learn their role in shaping health policy to improve population health outcomes. Global, national, and regional health services will be explored with the development of two collaborative policy briefs. Students will then have the opportunity to develop a policy brief on a self-selected topic of interest and communicate with target audience or media. A historical review of the shaping of the Affordable Care Act provides a background for students to examine the interactions between economics, ethics, and legislative processes that influence the delivery and organization of health systems.
