    For this class, we will use the following policy for incidences of plagiarism:

    1st Offense in Reading Quizzes - a warning will be given and corrective feedback will be provided
    

    2nd Offense in Reading Quizzes - a warning will be given and corrective feedback will be provided

    Additional Offenses in Reading Quizzes - a zero for the quiz or assignment
    

    Any Offenses in the Papers - a zero for the paper and the incident will be reported to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

    1.         People in Wisconsin tend to like their personal space.  Standing too close to a person here will usually initiate some reaction.  Stand too close to three people and describe their reactions.

    2.         Go to a grocery store and say “Hi” to 10 random strangers.  Observe their reactions.

    3.         Gather 4 or 5 friends together.  Go to a public place and stand staring up at the ceiling or a high place on the wall.  See how many people join your group or ask you questions.

    Cultures change everyday, but some changes are more obvious than others.  Technological Determinism argues that technology is the single biggest driver of social change.  Take a look at a social media site (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and find an example of how culture (norms, values, language, etc.) is different there than other areas of culture.  If you aren't on any social media sites (good for you, by the way) find examples by looking at news articles that discuss social media.
