An introduction to fundamental art concepts and techniques, including an overview of art history. The course provides basic studio experiences in drawing, painting, and other media, and serves as a prerequisite for additional art electives.
This course will build a foundation for basic visual concepts and theories and begin to apply them, to making art, appreciating art, and finally, and possibly most importantly, considering the complexities of the visual landscape in the contemporary world of visual overload.
